St Lawrence’s Church dates back to the 10th Century and enjoyed a special relationship with the great Benedictine Abbey which adjoins the site. The present building was extensively repaired in 1834 by the local squire, Edward Rudge. The building is now vested in the Churches Conservation Trust who have carried out extensive repairs over recent years. The Church is now available for events and occasional services. Over the past 12 months more than 12,000 people have signed the visitors book.
The Civic Society believes promotion of Evesham’s history and heritage is vital to future tourism in the Town and looks forward to welcoming all visitors to the Church for this event.
