Worcester Civil War battles walk
Sunday, 28th June
Enjoy a walk through history. Worcester was the site of the first meaningful skirmish in the English Civil Wars and then, in 1651, The Battle of Worcester was the final battle of those wars. Our seven mile walk will take us through the battlefield areas.
Starting from the Ketch Viewpoint, we cross the river on the bypass bridge and then walk across farmland heading towards Powick. We then cross the river Teme and follow it to where it meets the river Severn and then head towards Worcester, crossing the river at the new Diglis Bridge and then walk back along the opposite bank to our start point. It is a fairly flat walk and mostly easy going, although there are a number of stiles. One stile is a steep ladder stile and we will also be passing through a number of fields with cattle in them so, APOLOGIES, BUT THIS WALK IS NOT SUITABLE FOR DOGS.
Bring refreshments for a snack break.
