August 29 Evening Ramble

Leaders: Andy and Emily

Area: Heightington

Start Time: 5 pm

Terrain: Hilly, ravines, a few very steep inclines with challenging footing and slippery if wet. Mostly farmland or woodland, some quiet roads and dirt or gravel paths.

Distance: 3.7 miles

Description: “This is our third summertime romp across the rollercoaster landscape of the hills north of Abberley. We’ll pass a 17th-century farmhouse and a hidden damson orchard. You are encouraged to bring walking sticks, and we’ll be walking fairly quickly and thirstily because the aim, as always, is to end by enjoying Worcestershire’s finest craft beer, at a brewery in a barn which shuts at 8pm. There will be a pop-up food stand – if you might want to eat, please indicate this in your booking and we’ll send you the menu to choose from shortly before the day, so they hold back food for our arrival (the place is very popular on summer evenings). Please bring £1 to pay for parking at the Village Hall.”
